Dear Allendale County Community of Learners,
Allendale County Schools and its offices will reopen on Wednesday, October 2nd. We understand this is a difficult time, so we are doing everything we can to make this transition smoother.
For students or staff without access to water or electricity, we will have showers and toiletries available to use. We will also provide hot breakfast and lunch to all of our students and staff. We are allowing students to dress down in lieu of uniforms. However, we still expect all students to wear appropriate clothing as outlined in the Student Handbook.
There will be no after school activities or programs for the remainder of the week. Parents please be reminded that October 7, 8, and 9th are no longer intercession days, attendance is mandatory! We will use these as make up-days for Hurricane Debbie in August. We look forward to seeing our students after this stressful time.
Parents we understand this is a difficult situation but we want our students to be a as successful as possible. Please
support us in our return to school. Attendance is key to academic success! We weathered this storm together as a community, #TogetherWeCanDoThis Everyone please stay safe and keep faith!

Attention Parents and Guardians,
Due to inclement weather, there will be no after-school programs or athletic practices on tomorrow, September 26th. Please arrange for your child's transportation immediately after school. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but as always we want to prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Good evening Tiger Family!
We realize that homecoming is a memorable time in the Allendale-Fairfax Community. Due to the impending weather, we have had to make a difficult decision. We have decided to move our homecoming festivities to include homecoming parade, bonfire, game, and tailgating to October 10th and October 11th, 2024 where we will play the Ridgeland Jaguars. We ask for your understanding as we consider the safety of our students, staff, and community. We look forward to you joining us on October 10th and 11th and hope you keep the momentum until then. Remember, once a Tiger, always a Tiger!

We are so proud of Jaylen Outing for placing first in the National Night Out writing competition. Also, congratulations to Caylee Lofton and Rebekah Powers, for placing 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Thank you to the Allendale Police Department for sponsoring National Night Out and Allendale County Schools for donating the cash prizes.
September is Attendance Awareness Month and with rising truancies, we have to make a change. Superintendent Dr. Cave sat down with the Truancy Collaborative to address the issue and come up with new ways to resolve the problem. Remember, attendance directly correlates with grades and it is required by law for children aged 5-17 to attend school.
Please join us on Saturday, October 19th from 10am-1pm for a county wide Oral Health Day. This event is sponsored by Allendale County Schools and will be held in the Allendale-Fairfax High School Gymnasium. There will be free oral resources and screenings, so please come out! Oral health is often forgotten, but vital to our overall health.
Special congratulations to Mrs. Tinsley, an AFES teacher, and Santos Milan, a senior. Mrs. Tinsley deserves a special recognition for having a 93% and 100% passing rate respectively for her class. Milan earned a perfect score last year. However, this year he earned two perfect scores, making him a Golden Achiever for his continued excellence!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We regret to inform you that we are having issues with our phone and internet. We are experiencing intermittent service that is interrupting phone calls at our district. This outage is affecting 4-5 nearby counties as well. We are working to resolve this problem. However, it may interfere with the streaming of tonight's Board Meeting. If so, we will upload the meeting as soon as we are able. We apologize and will provide you with the soonest update available.
We have an exciting week ahead here at ACSD, so here is our Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave with some important announcements and reminders! https://fb.watch/uNl0S6eAqx/
