Something exciting is coming to Allendale-Fairfax High School! A café designated just for our Senior Class! To prepare, Ms. Busby set up a taste test with new foods for the students to try. Seniors were able to sample and rate each food, so that they could have a voice in what will be served on the menu. This space will be great for fellowship, but also encourage our students to try new foods.

Our Beta Club students exemplified the heart of service and generosity by collecting and donating essential items to the Ronald McDonald House! Their dedication to helping families in need reflects the core values of Beta Club and our district—leadership, character, and compassion. We are incredibly proud of our students for making a difference and showing what it means to give back.

As we continue our week-long Black History Month celebration, our students put on a live gallery walk, making history come alive in a truly inspiring way. They delivered powerful speeches and reenacted iconic figures such as Maya Angelou, Jackie Robinson, and Lebron James. Parents and students then explored incredible artwork and biographies created by our scholars. We are so proud of our students for honoring Black excellence with such creativity!

The students at Allendale-Fairfax Elementary had a tooth-rific time at the Puppet Show in honor of Children's Dental Health Month. The puppets took a trip to the dentist for a routine check-up, showing our little learners that there’s nothing to fear—just lots to smile about! With giggles and grins, the kids learned the importance of brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups. Special thanks to Shawn Skinner and the Columbia Marionette Theatre for the amazing show!

Today is your last chance to support the AFMHS Chorus by purchasing Krispy Kreme donuts or certificates. This fundraiser sponsors the costs for our choir to travel to New York in 2026. This is a invaluable experience that we would love for our students to have. After their stellar performances, we think they deserve it! Let's finish the campaign strong, so that they can reach their donation goal. Remember, every contribution brings our choral students one step closer to their New York trip. #TogetherWeCanDoThis

Today, we celebrated Black History Month by doing a Freedom March around campus. Equipped with signs, chants, and music, students felt emboldened to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors. Along the way, teachers and students gave speeches to honor our African-American heroes. Mr. Davis reminded the students that although there may be obstacles or stigmas due to how we look or where we come from, greatness is possible.

During our Board Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave gave insight on the strides our district is making. She reviewed the calendar options for next year and encourages everyone in the district and community to participate. Dr. Cave also shared testing predictions and schedules. There were updates from our Finance and Human Resource departments which are both running smoothly. Our new Head Football Coach, Mr. Travis Lewis, was also introduced. He passionately outlined his vision for developing players both on and off the field.

The panelists answered questions from our aspiring students, reminding them of the strong support system and resources available right here in Allendale. Though each panelist's journey was unique, they all share the same grit and ambition. Mr. Johnson emphasized that being raised in Allendale County builds resilience and strength.

As part of our week-long Black History Month Celebration, we held a panel featuring several Black entrepreneurs who provided our students with insight and wisdom. Each of the guests were alumni of Allendale-Fairfax and spoke on how the community fostered their growth and success. Special thanks to Mattie Davis-Ginn, Grace Holmes, David Johnson, Ahmad Mikell, and Shuchemia Williams for participating in the panel and speaking to our students.

Our AFMHS Chorus Donut Fundraiser is almost over! Help our choral students hit the high notes in New York by purchasing a box of doughnuts from a chorus student. All proceeds will go towards a trip to New York in 2026. We appreciate any contribution you can make, as we want to make this happen for our dedicated and skilled choir. Krispy Kreme will deliver orders on March 3, 2025. There are only two days left to place your orders, so please join our mission to send our chorus to New York! #TogetherWeCanDoThis

Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave led a training for paraeducators with the help of Dr. Miller. They provided our paraeducators with the tools and knowledge to thrive in their roles. Focusing on responsibilities, management, and the importance of supporting both teachers and students, the session reinforced how crucial their work is to our school community. This collaboration is key to student success!

Our Lady Tigers are traveling to Carvers Bay High School tonight for the First Round of Playoffs and we couldn't be more proud! They've worked hard all season for this moment and now it’s time to ball out. Whether you’re in the crowd or cheering from home, let’s make sure they feel the love and support from their Tiger Family!

Thank you to Swell City Capital for restocking our Just In Case Closets across the district! These closets are filled with new supplies, clothing, and essential items for students who may need a little extra support. If you or someone you know could use these resources, they’re here for you—no questions asked. We want to ensure every student has what they need to thrive in the classroom!

To our February stars—thank you for everything you do! 🌟 Your hard work and positive energy inspire us all, and we couldn’t do it without you. We’re sending you all the love (and virtual cake 🎂) as you celebrate another year of greatness. Enjoy your special day!
