Thank you to all the students, teachers, administrators, and honored guests who participated and attended Thursday's Black History program. This event was a showcase of black culture and art and was the perfect ending to Black History Month.
During Thursday's Black History program, several students did reenactments of historical Black figures such as James Brown, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama, and Rosa Parks.
Dr. Cave has created a Student Advisory Committee. She consults with the students to hear their ideas and concerns so she can address the matters that are important to them.
Our Elementary School held a Black History Program. Students performed speeches, songs, and dances to commemorate individuals who used their art to combat resistance and racism.
There were several teachers and administrators present to welcome the new Beta Club inductees. They spoke about the importance of roots and elaborated on the four pillars of Beta Club: achievement, character, service, and leadership. Mrs. Oswald (5 years) and Mrs. Price (35 years) were also present to receive awards for their years of service.
During the Beta Club Induction, the current leaders lit candles, recited poems and invited the inductees to join the club.
Congratulations to the newest members of the National Senior Beta Club, who were inducted yesterday.
