ALLENDALE, September 8, 2020 –– Allendale County School District is proud to be moving forward on the primary wing addition to Allendale Elementary School – a project that is more than 5 years in the making.
Serious talks about the addition to Allendale Elementary School for students PreK-2nd grade came about in 2014 when the District and the Board of Trustees were exploring options to ensure the District was operating cost-effectively. The recommendation the District received from an energy savings study that was conducted in 2014 included closing Fairfax Elementary School and placing students K-5 in one building. The Little New Steps program will also be housed in the new wing.
The completion date for the New Primary Wing is July 31, 2021.
Special guests at the celebration included Representative Lonnie Hosey of 91st District, Dr. Chris Nesmith, Dean of the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, Dr. Willie Todd, President of Denmark Technical College, local county& city government officials, community members and ACS administrators and district office cabinet members.
